Assignments

Assignment #2: Texture Space Value

To do this assignment I had to take pictures from the internet and trace over them in order to create patterns that showed texture, value and space. For the first row we had to create textures, I used a flower pattern, a zig-zag pattern and a turtle shell pattern. For the second row we had to represent positive and negative space in our pictures, I did this by one creating the patterns and two varying the amount of either black or white that I filled in.

Assignment #3: Color Wheel
**Didn't get the chance to finish, but we talked and you said not to worry about it(:
But anyway for this assigmment(which I really liked!) We had to make a color wheel but use objects that had something to do with each other to represent each of the different colors. I used horses and saddles, obviously they have to do with each other and I LOVE horseback riding and working with horses so that is why I choose these objects. Unforntunalty I was sick the week we did it, I'm pretty sure it was the week I had bronchitis:( If you want me to finish it up it will be no problem you just might have to remind how to work some stuff(:

Assignment #4: Popart
Each square was supposed to represent a different color scheme(monochromatic, complementary, analogous and split-complementary) For monochromatic I used the color blue, and varying the shades of it. For complementary I used yellow and purple because they are opposite each other on the color wheel. For analogous I used red, yellow and orange because they are all beside each other on the color wheel. And or split-complementary I used green, violet and red-orange because violet and green are opposite each other and in the middle of the opposites is red-orange.

Assignment #5: Photo Mosaic
For this assignment we had to use one large picture and place ten to fifteen smaller pictures infront of it in order to create a collage. I choose a horse for my main picture and for my smaller pictures I choose pictures of landscapes such as a cave, the ocean and a prairie. I also used pictures of other horses, foxes, an elephant as a dog. I loved this assignment because you gave us a lot of freedom in choosing the pictures. It was really cool to see it all come together at the end!

Assignment #6: If I Crossed the Road..
This was my favorite assignment so far. My theme was a candy shop because if I was a kid again that is where I would want to go. I just found a yellow wallpaper and used it and I did the same thing with the wooden floor. I used pictures of doors at Target and a cartoon door over hang. The shelf next to the kid is made of chocolate and there are gum-balls and other candies in the jars within the shelf. The kid was a but disproportionate but I tried to work with it, loved this assignment. This and the color wheel are some of my favorites!

Assignment #7: Blend Yourself

This assignment was really funny. I put myself in the cast of Workaholics because I love the show. It was a pretty basic assignment, all we had to do was take a picture of ourselves and then blend it into another picture. It gave me another chance to practice using layers and my blending tools which was nice.

Assignment #8 Do You See What I'm Saying?

Although you can't really tell what work I used it was DIVINE. I outline the photo of an Arabian horse, which is one of my favorite breeds, the actual picture of the horse was when it has on its show halter and martingale. I outline the martingale with a V and the strings coming off of it with small, lowercase i's. For the rest of the horse I just continued to outline the body shape with different sizes of the word divine. For the font that I downloaded from www.dafont.com I used an arab looking font(which is the region that the arabian horse originated from, so I thought that was cool) Loved this assignment, I got to use a horse or something related to a horse....which I do for most of my assignments if you haven't noticed(:
